INTERFACE
Cartadis terminals interface to most photocopiers on the market today, communicating with multi-functional devices by means of a key counter interface.
Printing solutions are managed by a Server based software application resident on a Windows 2000 / XP platform using SQL / MSDE database connectivity. Card payment takes place at the Print Release station connected to a Cartadis terminal.

In an environment where multiple users have access to copy and print facilities within an organization, the need to introduce a method to control and management these becomes critical.

PRE-PAID PRINTING
The management of printing is primarily software driven, whereby all print jobs are effectively channelled through the Print Release Server and queued at this point, released once a valid card is inserted and amount is deducted accordingly.
When implementing the Cartadis system, users create and print documents as per normal. The printjobs are then transferred to a central “paypoint” where they are interpreted and costed within the software and remain in the queue until the “owner” identifies printjob and inserts a valid card.
Full reporting module provides management with all historical information relating to printjobs - when / who / where.
The Print Management software also has a comprehensive cost recovery module, so as to manage a company’s printing resources. All printing information and activity is automatically collected and reconciled.
PRE-PAID PHOTOCOPYING
The need to manage photocopying services has been a challenge for the past two decades. Previously, the only available method of charging multiple users upfront access to photocopies, was through coin or token devices alternatively manual reconciliation using a plug-in key counter. Users are now able to purchase photocopier cards at a wall mounted dispensing station, simultaneously loading cards with additional value, by inserting a combination of notes and/or coins, as and when necessary.
Provided the user has a valid card loaded with sufficient cash, access to all applicable photocopiers is granted, a predetermined amount is automatically deducted for each copy made.
